This IS waaay better than the 2012 film version hands down. Michael Ball & John Owen-Jones' version. What a wonderful performance. And I just want to say to all the comments lamenting no JOJ in the recording, with all due respect, you are clueless to the draw that Alfie is. I do not debate anyone on JOJ's performance. He is a gift to us all, and if he's your personal favorite Valjean I wouldn't think you mad. But let's face it, Les Miz has us already, fans of the show would probably buy tickets to this, and later on purchase the DVD if last year's winner of the voice played Valjean. We love the show. But if someone who isn't a fanatic of Les Miz is on the fence whether or not to spend any money to see this, more people are going to be swayed when they see Alfie's name than JOJ's. Alfie's constantly touring, he's got a number of Albums. Hell, he was good enough for The Who, and had Hugh Jackman not been the most amazing all around performer we've all ever lived through, there's a better than excellent chance Alfie would have gotten cast in the movie (his hours and hours spent with Tom Hooper can back up that claim. So, while I feel all of your pain over not having a JOJ recording to view at your leisure, business dictates Alfie is the correct choice. If you really want to cry about injustices in Les Miz, let's go back to the complete symphonic recording featuring Garry Morris as Valjean because Colm was otherwise occupied.

The first performance of Les Mis that I saw, and still my favorite. This is especially my favorite performance of Master of the House that I've ever seen as well. Very energetic and just pure fun. 3:21 AND I'M JAVERT. Samantha's sister taught me in primary school. They look very alike.

Best thing ever. So amazing that the huge numbers at the cinema screening were clapping. Ball and Boe plus a brilliant cast and staging made this a film to remember forever. Loved the extra footage at the end too.

Saw the concert last Saturday with my mum and it was all I expected and more it was absolutely amazing.

What did you think of Michael ball. Love it when people call a review bad just because it doesnt align with their opinion. Great review, as someone who has always found the potential of Les Mis to be greater than any production has achieved I thought it was well structured and honest to this persons opinion of the show. Which is what a review is. Philip Quast's performance as Javert is just timeless. 2019 and I still have not found a portrayal so intimidating, and he is still the only one who makes me cry during his suicide. On a lighter note am I the only one who is always like really. When the balloon pops during Castle on a Cloud lol. When I was a kid, I used to think that one of the guns went off or something. Best off everything, the best. amazing. loveing it. such a greate job, can't stop watching it x.

I really enjoyed seeing Les Miserables The Staged Concert at the Gielgud Theatre in London on Saturday 5th October 2019 in the matinee afternoon performance and it was brilliant and I saw it with Alfie Boe, Michael Ball and Matt Lucas and they were amazing. Oh my this is awesome love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️. It's funny how you can notice if someone read the great masterpiece of Victor Hugo, just by hearing or reading people that prefer Eponine over Cosette! Please read the book, you'll enter to a journey full of love, passion, redemption, mercy, anger, happiness etc. It's a wonderful experience.

I am glad that Les Miserables The Staged Concert is doing a Live Cinema broadcast in the UK on Monday 2nd December 2019 and I am really looking forward to seeing it. The men all sound annoying and that they don't want to be there the only good ones are fantine and jean Val jean cause I haven't got to anyone else yet.
